Sex Education's Ncuti Gatwa teases Eric "gets the ending" he deserves in season 4
Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa has revealed that his character Eric Effiong's ending in season 4 is the one he "wanted for him".
The next instalment of the hit Netflix series will serve as the star's swansong in the role, as he gears up to take over the role of The Doctor from Jodie Whittaker in Doctor Who.
Speaking to Vogue about the final chapter in Eric's journey, Gatwa teased: "He gets the ending I wanted for him. Things get tied up."

The star also revealed that he wrote a scene with his co-star Aimee Lou Wood, which he "particularly fought for" and "managed to get it in" to the show.
He recalled: "We were redrafting it until like 3am the day before. I’ve never written for Eric before so that felt big, and it was a scene that meant a lot to me in terms of Eric’s journey and relationships. It felt very necessary.”
During the interview, Gatwa also spoke about Jodie Turner-Smith's mysterious new role in Sex Education, as she is connected to Eric.

"For ages, we had no idea who was going to play that person," he explained. "I said, ‘Jodie would be the dream.'
"We’d swapped numbers maybe two weeks before that, at a Vogue event. I texted her and she said yes. She's just incredible in the show.”
Earlier this year, Turner-Smith teased her role on the show and confirmed all her scenes were with Gatwa: "When he called me and asked me to do it I was like: 'I don't care how much they're paying, I'm doing it'."
Meanwhile back in March, Wood describe the fourth season of the Netflix series as "all very, very new and fresh" for the show's characters.
