Shake Shack Is Giving Away Free Chicken Sandwiches All Week

The promo was only going to kick in if an NFL player celebrated a touchdown with the chicken dance during Sundays game — but when that didn't happen, Shake Shack offered it anyway

Shake Shack Offering Week-Long Promotion for Free Chicken Sandwiches

Shake Shack is giving customers seven opportunities to indulge in a free meal.

From Nov. 13 through Nov. 19, fans can order a free chicken sandwich, called the Chicken Shack, by using the promo code CHICKENDANCE at checkout at a Shake Shack kiosk or when ordering online. The deal requires a $10 minimum order.

The chicken shack sandwich stacks crispy chicken, lettuce, pickles and herb mayonnaise on a potato bun.

The promo was originally announced last week by ESPN reporter Adam Schefter but the deal was not a guarantee. At first, Shake Shack announced that it will give out free chicken sandwiches should a football player celebrate a touchdown with the chicken dance during any games on Sunday, Nov. 12. But even though no players participated in the dance, the fast food spot is still handing out freebies.

Wendy’s is also offering some chicken freebies. Starting Nov. 8 through the end of 2023, every Wednesday the fast food chain is offering customers free six-piece chicken nuggets with a purchase. It's available only through the Wendy’s app or online for eight weeks.

In other chicken news, Panda Express is collaborating with the popular YouTube hot wings tasting show Hot Ones for a spicy menu item.

Naturally, the brands are partnering on a chicken dish: the blazing bourbon chicken. The limited-time item combines crispy boneless chicken and vegetables in a sweet and spicy bourbon sauce (which gets its heat from Hot Ones Last Dab Apollo hot sauce). The blazing bourbon chicken will be Panda Express’s "spiciest dish to date," according to a press release.

The blazing bourbon chicken, which is available now until Jan. 2, will be served at Panda Express locations exclusively in Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New York, Texas and Washington, D.C..
