Shakira not thinking about dating as she has no space for a man

Shakira isn’t thinking about dating as she has no space for a man in her life.

The ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer, 47, has recently been linked to Tom Cruise, 61, and Lewis Hamilton, 39, in the wake of her painful split from her long-term Spanish footballer partner Gerard Piqué, 37, in 2022 after 12 years together.

But she has insisted to Rolling Stone about the prospect of looking for love: “I’m not thinking about that. What space do I have for a man right now?”

She admitted about still liking the idea of dating: “What can I tell you, I like men. That’s the problem. I shouldn’t like them with everything that’s happened to me, but imagine how much I like men that I still like them.”

Shakira split from Gerard amid rumours he cheated on her, and admitted she is not ready for a “formal relationship” at the moment.

She went on: “I think my kids would have to be very prepared for that, and their emotional and psychological well-being is the priority.”

Hinting she would be open to a more casual relationship, Shakira also said: “Hey, I’m not opposed to having friends.”

Shakira and Gerard have two sons – Milan, 11, and nine-year-old Sasha, and the pair announced their break-up in a joint statement.

It said: “We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect our privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”

Gerard has moved on with new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti, 25, while Shakira has moved from Barcelona in Spain to Miami, Florida, for a fresh start with her kids.

She sparked rumours she was seeing Formula 1 driver Lewis in May 2023 when she was spotted boating with the racer after they reportedly met at the Miami Grand Prix.

They were also seen together in Barcelona, with a source telling People at the time they were in the “fun and flirty” stages of early dating.

The gossip she was with Lewis came amid talk she was also with ‘Top Gun’ actor Tom, with whom she was also seen at the Grand Prix.

But a source told Page Six the singer was not going to “romance” the Hollywood A-lister.
