Sheffield: 'Smug' drug dealer who filmed himself with wads of £20 notes jailed

A 'smug' drug dealer who filmed himself lying down topless flashing his cash on his chest has been jailed for more than six years.

Mustafa Mahmood, 28, boasted how he was earning £1,000 a day through the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, using his earnings to splash out on designer clothing and footwear.

Mahmood simultaneously operated two drug lines in Sheffield and Barnsley, South Yorkshire, offloading an estimated two kilos of the Class A substances over six months.

The "well-connected" dealer, operating under the street name "Boosta", also recorded himself dealing to drug users over the wall of his home in Firth Park Road, Sheffield.

The footage was found on his mobile phone, which was among several devices seized by police during a raid on 25 April this year.

Officers also unearthed a black bag with drugs worth a street value of up to £25,000, together with £3,000 cash hidden inside the pocket of a jacket and designer clothing items.

A wooden chair was being used as a "chopping board" to cut up lines of drugs, with several wraps of cocaine also found ready to be distributed.

Mahmood admitted possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to supply.

He was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison at Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday.

In a statement released after the hearing, South Yorkshire Police branded Mahmood as "smug".

"He has now swapped a lavish lifestyle for a long stint in prison, with no stone left unturned in the bid to bring Mahmood to justice," the force said.

The officer in charge of the case, PC Gareth Webb, added: "Mahmood had the audacity to film himself dealing drugs and boasting about how much money he was making every day.

"I welcome the six-and-a-half year custodial sentence and hope this shows that we will work tirelessly to put these criminals behind bars."
