Singapore-based organisation RSG officially announced on Friday (9 June) that they would be expanding into the Philippines. RSG revealed their entry into one of the biggest countries in the Southeast Asian esports scene with a teaser on a new Facebook page for their Philippine branch.

RSG currently field eight teams competing in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), PUBG Mobile, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Call of Duty Mobile, WarCraft III Reforged, Street Fighter V, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and ERacing.

While the org have not yet revealed in which esports title their new Filipino team will be competing in, there has been speculation that they will field a third Filipino MLBB roster to join their existing Singaporean and Malaysian squads.

RSG have enjoyed a lot of success in MLBB this year, as their Malaysian roster were crowned the champions of the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 7 while their Singaporean squad finished second in the inaugural season of MPL Singapore.

Should RSG indeed field a new Filipino MLBB roster, it will be the second foreign organisation to join the MPL Philippines for its eighth season after EVOS Esports made its return to the country in June with a landmark partnership with local team Nexplay Esports.

Formerly known as Resurgence, the organisation rebranded itself into RSG in November last year in an effort to stay in pace with the quickly-growing esports scene in Southeast Asia.
