Singaporeans hard to please in bed: survey

Singaporeanssexual pleasure satisfaction is ranked second lowest in the world with a national average of 58 per cent, ahead only of Japan which scored 34 per cent, according to a global sexual wellbeing survey.

Only half of men surveyed (54 per cent) were satisfied with their partners in terms of sexual pleasure in the bedroom. On the other hand, 62 per cent of women claimed their partners were good at providing sexual pleasure, results of the survey conducted by Durex showed.

In contrast, Singapore’s neighbouring countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia were on top of the global sexual pleasure satisfaction list at 85 per cent and 89 per cent, respectively.

Nikhilesh Kalra, marketing director, Reckitt Benckiser Malaysia and Singapore, said, “We would like to encourage Singaporeans to experiment and communicate with each other more when they are in bed and they are likely to enjoy it more.”

The survey, which covered 506 respondents from Singapore, revealed that 77 per cent of Singaporeans between the ages of 35 and 49 years old felt closer to their partners through sex. However, only 64 per cent between the ages of 18 and 24 years old responded the same.

Women are also more likely to feel closer to their partner with sex. Eight out of 10 women agreed that sex brings them closer to their partner emotionally as compared to seven out of 10 men.

The global survey attracted 29,003 adults in 36 countries and was conducted from Sep 6 to Oct 3 last year.
