Local telcos Singtel, Starhub and M1 this week released subsidised prices for the new iPhone 5S and 5C.

Based on non-contract prices for the new phones, as posted last week on Apple’s website, the 16GB versions will cost S$988 for the iPhone 5S and S$848 for the iPhone 5C.

But buyers locking in a monthly subscription will be able to pay at lower nominal prices, according to the price plans unveiled by the telcos.

According to Cnet, top-tier plans across the three telcos show the biggest difference – Singtel’s Prestige plan charges $239.90 per month while M1’s iPhone Max+ and Starhub’s iPhone SmartSurf Elite charges $198 and $205, respectively.

It also said that M1 offers the best value “as the combined cost for the iPhone5S (64GB) is $900 cheaper than Singtel and $141 lesser than Starhub”.

It added that M1’s Extreme+ is the cheapest plan on the list.

Customers will be able to get hold of the phones after they hit the shelves on Friday, 20 September.
