Tanya Trotter née Blount, had a memorable duet with Lauryn Hill in the 1993 film, Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, performing "His Eye Is on the Sparrow." Absent Hill, Trotter took over the lead during Friday's celebration of the movie's cast reunion, bringing the house down with "Joyful, Joyful."

"It was fantastic!" Trotter told Entertainment Tonight at the CMA Fest in Nashville on Saturday. Trotter is also one half of the powerhouse country duo The War and Treaty with husband Michael Trotter Jr., who added, "The whole audience — what y'all couldn't see — we all were just [sobbing]."

Though she couldn't comment on whether she would be in Sister Act 3, Trotter does "know that the script is done."

Asked if she would be interested in joining the third installment of the beloved series, Trotter said, "Anything that Whoopi Goldberg is a part of — 'cause she's a legend, she's an icon, she's my mentor, hero — yes, I would say yes."

The Trotters started releasing music together as The War and Treaty in 2016 and earned their first Grammy nomination in 2023 for Best American Roots Song with "Blank Page."

As for Sister Act 3, Goldberg's been trying to bring this film to fruition for years — in 2022 SA3 producer Tyler Perry confirmed there was a "good script" in the works — and it seems we're going to see Deloris Van Cartier ride again sooner than later.
