Janelle Brown has some advice for her younger self.

Answering a fan question Friday on part 1 of the Sister Wives Talk Back special, the 54-year-old said, “There was a lot of things I didn't pursue, like education opportunities and even setting boundaries in my relationships with my sister wives. I was always so afraid to rock the boat. I think I would have told myself just be brave and rock the boat and have those tough conversations.”

Janelle “spiritually” wed Kody Brown in 1993, joining his plural marriage with Meri Brown. Janelle spent 29 years with Kody and welcomed six children with him before their separation in December 2022.

Janelle's decision to part ways with Kody, 54, came on the heels of her sister wife Christine Brown's departure from the plural marriage. In the year since then, the two women have remained close friends even as Kody has struggled to accept to the unraveling of his polygamous family unit.

Last month, the father of 18 shared that he felt “angry" and "betrayed” that Janelle, 54, seemingly chose Christine, 51, over him when they split.

On Sister Wives: One on One, he told host Sukanya Krishnan, “I'm supposed to be the head of the family, and I've been undermined completely here.”

He continued, “It's just you're in a tough spot and you are questioning yourself: Do I put more effort into this or not? And I think Janelle and I both — this is not an accusation — Janelle and I have both seen so little value in the relationship that we have not made those steps to bring it back together.”

He even suggested that “Janelle sees more value in the relationship with Christine than she does in the relationship with me.”

In the episode, Janelle admitted she felt “relieved” after a blowout argument with Kody last year that led to their.

Despite being “pretty emotional for a few minutes" after the argument "because [of] the emotional shock of it," she felt as if a "huge burden had been lifted."

“I didn't have to keep putting effort into this relationship anymore with Kody,” she said.

In a later episode of One on One, though, Janelle gave an update on how she feels looking back at her broken marriage.

"I don't foresee that we will ever reconcile, I don't," she told the host. "It would be some sort of, like, magic fairy tale where we all transformed into some sort of different people, and that doesn't happen in real life."

She did, however, see the now-exes becoming friends at some point. "Yes! I still have such high regard for him. I can remember all the good times, but I don't want to reconcile.”

In thinking about how "happy" Kody currently is with fourth wife Robyn Brown, Janelle said she's "OK" with them moving on and added: "Maybe someday, I'd like to find the same thing. But not right now."

Tensions were higher between Kody and Christine, as Christine brought her new husband, David Woolley, along with her for the episode, and she told her ex, “Stop being angry, and then we can all get along again once you let it go and stop being mad.”

Kody, meanwhile, recalled having an “uncomfortable life” with Christine, who he was with for 25 years, during their time in Las Vegas. "But what bothers me is her disposition toward me, that she laughs [and] mocks my suffering,” he said, before calling her “a woman I didn’t love.”

"That's the truth and she knows that," he said. "As hard as I worked at it and dug into it ... every devotion that I could have, that still was prevailing for us. It never really worked."
