Will Smith Reveals 'Scary' Reason For Early Checkout From London Hotel

Will Smith recently claimed he once had a spooky encounter with a ghost at a London hotel.

In an appearance on the “Tonight Show” Tuesday, the actor described what led up to an “emergency checkout” while playing a game of “True Confessions” with his “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” co-star, Martin Lawrence, and host Jimmy Fallon.

“This was probably 27 years ago,” Smith recalled. “The ghost urinated in my friend’s toilet and cleared all of his messages from his phone.”

Smith then revealed that his encounter with the apparition occurred at The Lanesborough, a five-star hotel near London’s Hyde Park that has welcomed guests like Cher, Mariah Carey, Sylvester Stallone and former President George H.W. Bush.

“We didn’t hear it talk, so we assumed it was British, but it was scary enough for us to check out of the hotel,” Smith said.

“Do you believe in ghosts?” Fallon asked.

“I believe there are things that you don’t understand, Jimmy,” Smith replied.

“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” earned $21.6 million on its opening day on Friday, according to Variety. The fourth film in the “Bad Boys” franchise, it’s projected to gross close to $75 million at the global box office over the weekend.
