Sofia Vergara Was Self-Conscious About Her 'Cellulite' While Filming Sex Scenes for “Griselda”: 'That One Kept Me Awake'

"I was worried that I was going to look horrific,” the four-time Emmy nominee confessed

Sofía Vergara was self-conscious and worried about filming sex scenes for Griselda.

The Emmy nominee, 51, shared during a Netflix FYSEE event on Sunday, June 2, that filming sex scenes for the crime drama stands out as one of the times she felt out of her depth, reports The US Sun.

In the miniseries, Vergara starred as Griselda Blanco, the creator of one of the most profitable drug cartels in history, and followed the life and death of "The Cocaine Godmother.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever done like, a sex scene,” she explained, noting she never had a sex scene during her Modern Family tenure with costar Ed O’Neill.

"I'm 50! I mean, when I was 30, I wouldn't have worried. I think I was worried that I was going to look horrific,” she confessed.

"I was like, ‘Where are they shooting me? The cellulite? From the side,’” Vergara shared. “Uh, I'm vain I guess. That one kept me awake I think."

While she was apprehensive about the prospect of shooting sex scenes, she conceded that the scenes “came out good.”

“It's really dark and Andy [Baiz], the director, is very artistic and he made me feel super comfortable and he's like, ‘We're never going to stay like a long time on you [the camera].' "

Additionally, Baiz, 49, previously shared how Vegara’s “physical transformation” was “one of the toughest aspects of the whole show.”

“It was in Miami in the '70s and the '80s. Getting the look correct was very important to me,” added Vergara. “I needed to disappear.”

Griselda hairstylist Kelly Kline revealed, “We had five wigs, different time periods," while makeup artist Todd McIntosh said, “She’s wearing prosthetic eyebrow covers and false eyebrows that are glued on, a nose, and a plate of teeth slightly bucked.”

More recently, the America’s Got Talent judge shared exclusively with PEOPLE that the prospect of aging keeps her up at night.

“I’m going to fight it every step of the way,” she admitted. “I know I don’t look the same. But I don’t think I am going to ever be the woman that has the courage to be, like, all-white hair.”

She shared with Allure that to combat aging, she plans to make enhancements to her physical appearance with the help of plastic surgery when she has "more downtime."

“I feel like you have to take advantage of everything that is out there. I mean, if you care about aging,” she told the outlet. “I feel like I'm going to do every plastic surgery that I can do when I'm ready,” she said.
