Soldier and former stylist from Ukraine dies of heart failure in hospital

Ukrainian soldier and pre-war stylist and costume designer Shura Ryazantseva died of heart failure in a hospital in Zhytomyr on June 11, public broadcaster Suspilne Crimea reported, citing the death certificate issued by doctors at the request of the 78th Air Assault Regiment, where she served.

Her death was announced earlier by her sister, Valeria Ryazantseva.

She was being transferred to another unit at the time of her death and had one day left before the transfer.

The 41-year-old Ryazantseva, call sign Yalta, was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity and spent five days in Russian captivity in Crimea after Russia occupied the peninsula in 2014. After the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022, she joined the Territorial Defense and later served in the 78th Separate Airborne Brigade.

Before the war, Ryazantseva worked as a stylist and costume designer for various TV programs, including those on Inter TV, Kvartal 95 Studio, Orel and Reshka, and Ukraina TV.
