Sophia Bush Has Fallen 'in Love For the First Time' with “One Tree Hill ”amid Rewatch Podcast

Sophia Bush is taking a trip down memory lane and falling in love with her past!

On the Thursday, June 27 episode of her Drama Queens podcast, the actress, 41, told her co-hosts and former costars Bethany Joy Lenz and Hilarie Burton that she had a newfound appreciation for One Tree Hill now that she's revisited the show older and wiser.

When asked if they would reprise their roles, Bush confessed that she would have never agreed to do it before starting their podcast.

"It is so interesting how doing this show has made me fall back in love, like maybe really truly in love for the first time with our show," she gushed. "And now I'm like, oh my god. I wanna do – I wanna do an episode of our show from this feeling."

"I just feel so proud. I feel so much ownership of it. I really feel I feel like we made something really special," Bush continued, adding how it would be "so cool" to go to a "parallel universe and make an episode from this place and see how it felt."

One Tree Hill premiered on the WB in 2003 and its finale aired nine years later in 2012. The show originally followed estranged brothers Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) in their shared ambitions of basketball greatness and winning their father's affection.

The show was also driven by its female characters, particularly Brooke Davis (Bush), a cheerleader with a fun streak and a heart of gold; Peyton Sawyer (Burton), a fellow cheerleader with an artistic eye and an extensive vinyl collection; and Haley James (Lenz), a student tutor with dreams of a music career.

Although Burton left the show after season 6 along with her onscreen husband Murray, Bush and Lenz starred on the show for its entirety.

In last week's episode of Drama Queens, Burton admitted that she wished her departure from OTH went differently.

“Everyone was saying goodbye to me, but it felt like a funeral,” Burton revealed, adding that she was set up in a hospital bed with a prosthetic belly to film the birth of her character Peyton’s baby.

“I’m literally laying there like I’m in a coffin,” Burton, 41, explained. “James Lafferty comes up to the side of the bed and is like, ‘Hey, uh, have a good summer.’ It was so awkward and awful. People would put their head on my hair and say, ‘Well, I’ll see you next season,’ and I kept being like, ‘No you won’t! What are you guys talking about?’”

Burton said her castmates and crew did not believe that she wouldn’t be returning to the series, which she had starred in since its start. They even sent everyone home while she and Murray filmed their final scene because it didn’t seem like the end.

“It was an out-of-body experience, [like] being at my own character’s funeral, knowing I wasn’t going to see a lot of you [for years],” Burton recalled as she teared up.
