Star NFL Receiver Stefon Diggs Is Getting His First Asics Sneaker Collaboration

More from Footwear News

Last year, four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs signed an endorsement deal with Asics that would focus on lifestyle and fashion rather than performance. That partnership has now bore its first sneaker, as Diggs revealed his Gel-Nimbus 10.1 on Instagram.

The Stefon Diggs x Asics Gel-Nimbus 10.1 places an emphasis on friends and family with a number of personalized details including a friendship bracelet-style pull tab on the heel with beads that spell out “Friends.” Appearing primarily in white and silver, Diggs’ sneaker also features small accents in lavender and yellow. The right tongue badge has been customized with the word “Family,” as well as three figures representing him and his two brothers, one of whom also plays in the NFL.

An additional panel on the heel calls out the shoe as one out of 250, which means the sneaker could be exclusive to friends and family.

The Gel-Nimbus 10.1 will launch in July as an updated version of the runner from 2008. The primary swap comes through the sole unit being swapped out for that of the Gel-Kayano 14, Asics’ most popular model of the moment that also originates from 2008 and was awarded that year’s International Editor’s Choice prize by Runner’s World.

Diggs, who was recently traded from the Buffalo Bills to the Houston Texans, is widely considered one of the NFL’s most stylish players. He’s a frequently spotted at fashion shows and just this year launched his own label, Liem Homme.

The Stefon Diggs x Asics Gel-Nimbus 10.1 doesn’t yet have any release information, but this post will be updated as more information becomes available.
