[STORY UPDATED: 27/11/2014 at 10:40 PM - StarHub has sent out a statement saying that all services have been fully restored.]

StarHub says that it is taking steps to “assess and stabilise” its fibre broadband and digital voice services which were down in many parts of Singapore on Thursday.

“This incident first started at 9:30am today. Affected traffic was diverted to alternative links and normal service resumed at 11:25am,” said a spokesman in a statement to the media.

However, the services were down again around 3 pm on the same day, which the telco says they are in the process of “investigating”.

Customers of StarHub complained of difficulties in logging onto the Internet and making voice calls throughout the day in areas like Tampines, Punggol, Sengkang and Hougang.

“This isn’t the first, or even the second time StarHub’s services are down. Its so frustrating for me,” said undergraduate Royston Teo, 26, who was one of the affected customers. “They need to get it right.”

Earlier this year on October 2, StarHub services were disrupted for a whole day, prompting irate users to demand an explanation on their Facebook page.
