Steve Irwin's Wife Terri and Kids Bindi and Robert Celebrate His 62nd Birthday: 'His Legacy Lives On'
The 'Crocodile Hunter' died in 2006 at the age of 44
Steve Irwin’s family is remembering him on what would’ve been his 62nd birthday.
“Happy Birthday! Missing my Action Man. ❤️,” his wife Terri Irwin captioned a video of him that she shared on her Instagram account. The clip featured a compilation of some of the late Crocodile Hunter’s best moments in the wild.
His voice had been Autotuned into a song. Terri, 59, gave credit to Melodysheep for the mashup.
The Irwins had two children together before his death in September 2006.

“Happy Birthday, Dad. Your legacy will live on forever,” their daughter Bindi Irwin captioned a sweet Instagram carousel.
In the first image, the 25-year-old shared a picture of her younger self standing beside her dad as he sat next to her. They both smiled as she held a live bird in her hand. Several images saw Steve wrangling alligators and another with a Komodo dragon.

There were also some group shots of the family, as well as a picture of a young Steve and Terri hugging while holding onto a pup.
“Steve’s love for you will live on forever too. ❤,” the mother of two commented on her daughter’s social media post.
Their son Robert Irwin honored his father as well.
“It’s a meaningful day to share this special story… on Dad’s birthday. It makes me so proud that his legacy lives on,” the 20-year-old captioned a video.
The clip included a sentimental voiceover that played as footage from Robert’s childhood with his dad overlapped with new content.
Steve’s son explained that when he was just a little boy, “every morning” he and his sister Bindi used to sit on their father’s lap as the wildlife educator and environmentalist made his rounds on his “Honda 100” that was his “main mode of transportation” at the Australia Zoo while checking on the many animals who called the location home.
Robert admitted that after his dad’s death, the motorcycle sat unused for quite some time, but he’d recently gotten it up and running again.
“Some of my fondest and earliest memories were on that bike,” he said, adding that now it’s his job to get up early and do the same “park checks” his dad used to do.

The Irwin family continues to run the Australia Zoo together.
Steve was born on Feb. 22, 1962. He died in September 2006 at the age of 44 after the barb of a short-tail stingray pierced through his chest while he was snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef.
