Streamer Veeps Sets Launch Of Veeps Studio

EXCLUSIVE: Veeps, the streamer known for spotlighting live music and entertainment, has announced the launch of Veeps Studio, a division of the company focused on bringing film projects to life and connecting them with viewers and fans around the world.

Already released in June 20, the division’s first project, Rite Here Rite Now, is a feature-length concert/narrative film produced in partnership with the rock band Ghost, which grossed $5.04M in its first weekend in theaters. The studio will be led by Veeps co-founder Kyle Heller, with Benji and Joel Madden as Executive Producers.

In a statement on the launch of Veeps Studio, Heller told Deadline, “When we first saw the concept for RITE HERE RITE NOW we knew it had to be delivered to fans in the most global, far-reaching way possible. We were so glad to be a part of making that happen with VEEPS Studio and the film’s other partners.”

Since its inception in 2018, Veeps has sat in the producer role for a large range of livestreams and concert streams alongside executing the actual delivery of high-quality content into TVs and devices. The launch of Veeps Studio was described as a natural progression for a company already known as a home for premier docu-concerts and music-leaning film content, as well as comedy specials and more.

While specifics as to upcoming projects are under wraps for now, we’re told Veeps Studio has a number of projects in the pipeline with a lean towards “event cinema,” which the company describes as a combination of live performance footage with narrative elements that brings fandom and community together.

Previously, Veeps has streamed top-flight musical performances to millions of viewers worldwide, from the likes of Billie Eilish, Bob Dylan, Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Foo Fighters, and Kings of Leon. Named a Fast Company World’s Most Innovative Company, Veeps also notably holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest ticketed livestream performance, for its involvement with Louis Tomlinson’s ‘Live from London’ charity concert in December 2020.
