Capcom's two biggest franchises, Street Fighter and Monster Hunter, will be getting a huge crossover this month as Street Fighter 6 will be hosting the special Monster Hunter 20th anniversary collaboration event to allow players dress up their Avatars as Monster Hunter's titular Hunter.

Street Fighter 6's Monster Hunter 20th anniversary collaboration event will run from 1 to 21 April alongside the introduction of the Fighting Pass system, which will let players earn a variety of rewards through points earned by playing the game.

During the event, players can dress up their Avatar custom character as a Hunter wearing the Rathalos armor set fashioned from Monster Hunter's most iconic monster. The Avatar can also be equipped with 15 different weapon-type accessories based on different Monster Hunter weapons, including a Rathalos Greatsword and a Deviljho Longsword, among others.

Other Monster Hunter-themed cosmetics such as photo frames, emotes, and stickers will also be available.

Street Fighter 6 players can get the Monster Hunter-themed cosmetics as premium rewards from the April Fighting Pass. The weapon-themed accessories from the Monster Hunter series will also be available for purchase at The Hub Goods Shop in the Battle Hub and can be bought using Fighter Coins or Drive Tickets.

Watching tutorials during the collaboration event period will also allow players to obtain the 'Wyvern Jawblade' weapon-type accessory.

There will also be a voting event in the Battle Hub that will run from 8 April until the end of the month, where players can vote for their favourite Monster Hunter weapon type to receive 2,000 Drive Tickets. The Battle Hub will also receive Monster Hunter-themed decorations for the duration of the collaboration event.

Capcom's Monster Hunter series started all the way back in 2004 with the release of Monster Hunter for the PlayStation 2. The series mostly enjoyed success in Japan and on consoles but still garnered a dedicated following outside of its home country.

The Monster Hunter series finally enjoyed global success with the release of Monster Hunter: World in 2018 for both consoles and PC. Monster Hunter: World would go on to become both the best-selling game of the Monster Hunter series and the best-selling Capcom game of all time.

The most recent entry to the series, Monster Hunter Rise, was released in 2021. As part of the celebration of the series' 20th anniversary, Capcom also announced that the series' next title Monster Hunter Wilds will be released some time in 2025.
