Strictly’s Johannes Radebe on “friend for life” John Whaite
Strictly Come Dancing pro dancer Johannes Radebe has weighed in on his friendship with his 2021 dance partner John Whaite.
Radebe's comments follow Whaite's revelation that he "fell in love" with Radebe during their time as the first male same-sex pair on the show.
"We have gone on to have such a beautiful experience together that it would be a shame if we were not friends after all that," Radebe told The Times.

"What we agreed is that, regardless of what life throws at us, we will always keep [this friendship] going," he continued.
"'We are friends for life,' I always say to him. 'I know where you live. You cannot get rid of me,'" he then said, adding: "I still speak to him."
Radebe also opened up on his desire to want to form a long-term relationship, saying: "I want a partner."
"I want one. I need one. Every aspect of my life is great except for that. I deserve love and I never, ever thought that I deserved to be loved in that way," he added.

In an interview with The Times to promote his upcoming memoir titled Dancing on Eggshells: Kitchen, ballroom and the messy inbetween, Whaite revealed that, though he still speaks to Radebe, he is "mindful" of his fiancé Paul Atkins' feelings.
"I love him to bits and I worship the ground he walks on," the Great British Bake Off winner said of his dance partner.
"But I have to be mindful that there's more than my own desires to consider here and if it would be tricky for Paul for me to be in contact with Johannes, then it's a sacrifice that I have to make."
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
