Strictly’s Layton Williams shuts down "hateful" trolls
Strictly Come Dancing star Layton Williams has hit back at the online trolls who have been sending him negative comments.
The Bad Education actor is one of many famous faces taking part in the competition this year and recently opened up about the abuse he’s received online since joining Strictly.
Now, Williams has made it clear he’s not letting any negative remarks tear him down as he took to social media to combat the haters.
Instead of coming at me with hateful comments, use your energy to shower your fave celeb with love instead. Pretty sure it will make us all feel much better!✨💛 #ChooseJoy x pic.twitter.com/JrpDPiApXJ

This isn’t the first time Williams has spoken out about the hate he’s received online regarding his same-sex pairing, costume choices and theatre school background.
He recently told The Guardian how he tries to "protect" himself from the hate by focusing on "the bigger picture".
However, he later went on to reveal he’s also received a huge amount of heartwarming messages from Strictly fans who have been inspired by his performances.

Williams has been partnered up in the competition with professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin and the duo sailed through Week 5 of the star-studded BBC competition over the weekend.
On Saturday (October 21) night’s live show, the couple danced a Salsa to 'Quimbara' by Johnny Pacheco and Celia Cruz.
With some stiff competition seen across the weekend, comedian Eddie Kadi and his partner Karen Hauer were sadly booted off the show after losing the dance off to Love Island’s Zara McDermott and Graziano di Prima.
Having survived Week 5, Williams has now made it through to the much-loved Halloween Week where the celebrities each perform a dance routine inspired by the spooky holiday.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
Tickets for Strictly's 2024 live arena tour are available now.
