Former Strictly Come Dancing star Saffron Barker has spoken about her time on Celebrity Hunted, saying she risked capture for a "Nando's and spray tan".

The YouTuber is currently appearing on the fifth celebrity series of the Channel 4 reality show, which sees a group of contestants go on the run in the UK for a period of 14 days.

Their aim is to avoid being caught by a team of 'Hunters', which is made up of various members from the police and intelligence forces.

Despite the aim of the game being to avoid capture, Saffron revealed to the Daily Star that she was occasionally tempted by the essentials in her personal life.

"I did actually risk getting caught for a Nando's," she said. "I went many days without and there's not many days I go without Nando's, so I thought, 'Why not?' There's no good excuse I can give, I was just craving it.

"I also risked getting caught for a spray tan one day as well, but some things have got to be done," she added, before praising her partner in the show, mathematician Bobby Seagull. "Bobby is a genius but I consider myself quite street smart. I was actually quite surprisingly good. We did very well."

The cast for the fifth series of Celebrity Hunted also includes comedian James Acaster, Strictly professional Katya Jones and The Devil’s Hour star Nikesh Patel.

Saffron was partnered with AJ Pritchard for the 17th series of Strictly, where she was eliminated in week 10.

Whilst the casting announcement for the upcoming series is still a while away, former professional Aljaž Škorjanec revealed he would be open about returning to the show as a judge, saying: "There's so many spots on that show, there's dancers, there's judges, there's hosts, so you never know."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
