A mom and her two toddlers are recovering in Utah after a group of students helped rescue them from underneath a car.

The mother and her children were walking in the parking lot of Layton Christian Academy at about 3:45 p.m. local time on Tuesday when they were hit by the car, CBS affiliate KUTV and NBC affiliate KSL-TV reported.

The 3-year-old — identified as Brightly Ponson on GoFundMe — was able to crawl out from underneath the vehicle, KSL-TV reported.

At least 20 LCA students jumped into action alongside a noted military “hero” who helped rescue Bridgette Ponson and her 2-year-old son Archer, according to the GoFundMe campaign.

Surveillance footage of the incident, obtained by KSL-TV and FOX affiliate KSTU, shows multiple young people running out of the school and up to the vehicle before trying to free the victims.

Layton Christian Academy CEO Chris Crowder said students “from different countries” participated in the rescue. “Girls, boys, it didn't matter. They just all took a spot in the car and lifted it,” he added, per KSL-TV.

The group of students “picked up the car" on one side, so another person, whom Crowder said was a member of the Air Force, was able to pull them out.

Archer was transported via Careflight to Primary Children’s Hospital, while Bridgette and Brightley were transported to the hospital via ambulance, according to the GoFundMe.

The mom and 2-year-old were in serious condition, according to KUTV. The 3-year-old sustained minor injuries.

All three victims are expected to survive, which Crowder called “a miracle.” He praised everyone who participated in the rescue for their heroics, according to KSL-TV.

“We just have seen God do so many things around here, and this is one of them," Crowder explained.

Police believe Tuesday’s incident was an accident, KTSU reported.

The woman driving the car that hit the mom and two toddlers was blinded by sunlight when the crash occurred, per the reports. She is cooperating with investigators, and according to KUTV, she was not impaired or distracted at the time.

As of Wednesday afternoon, more than $12,000 has been raised via GoFundMe to support the family following the accident.
