Update 3:05 P.M.

Following the social media hoopla of Lizzo doing a smoothie cleanse, the singer took to Instagram again to share a nude selfie and a moving self-declaration of love for her body.

"I detoxed my body and I'm still fat. I love my body and I'm still fat. I'm beautiful and I'm still fat. These things are not mutually exclusive. To the people who look to me, please do not starve yourselves. I did not starve myself. I fed myself greens and water and fruit and protein and sunlight," wrote Lizzo alongside the pic. "You don't have to do that to be beautiful or healthy. That was my way. You can do life your way. Remember, despite anything anyone says or does ✨DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH YOUR BODY✨."

Lizzo is once again defending herself from the endless critiques of Instagram trolls, who believe they have the right to police her body and health.

Yesterday, the "Truth Hurts" singer shared on the platform that she had participated in a 10-day smoothie cleanse with guidance from her personal trainer, as well as her doctor. Fans of the musician quickly took to her comments section and Twitter to voice their "disappointment" in Lizzo for seemingly succumbing to the pressure of diet culture, assuming she was cleansing to lose weight. Lizzo quickly took to her Instagram Stories, however, to debunk their claims, revealing that she merely wasn't feeling her best and wanted to do something about it.

"As you know, I would normally be so afraid and ashamed to post things like this online because I feel like, as a big girl, people just expect if you are doing something for health, you're doing it for a dramatic weight loss, and that is not the case," explained Lizzo, per E! News. "In reality, November stressed me the fuck out, I drank a lot, I ate a lot of spicy things and things that fucked my stomach up. And I wanted to reverse it and get back to where I was."

The singer continued, stressing that the results she was aiming for post-cleanse were far from superficial. "I'm so proud of myself, I'm proud of my results, my sleep has improved, my hydration, my inner peace, my mental stability, my fuckin' body, my fuckin' skin, the whites of my eyes," said Lizzo. "Like, I feel and look like a bad bitch. And that's it. I'm a big girl who did a smoothie detox. And I wanted to share that with you guys. I got exactly what I wanted out of it, and every big girl should do whatever the fuck they want with their body."

This is not the first time Lizzo has clapped back at those who critique her body. Back in June, the singer responded to body-shamers commenting on her fitness routine shared to TikTok, saying once again that her goal was not weight related.

"And it may come as a surprise to some of y'all that I'm not working out to have your ideal body type. I'm working out to have my ideal body type," said Lizzo at the time. "And you know what type that is? None of your fucking business."
