Tiffany Chen admits Cecilia Cheung was fired

19 Mar – China Star Entertainment's Tiffany Chen has recently confirmed rumours that actress Cecilia Cheung has been cut from the upcoming movie, "Investiture of the Gods".

As reported on On CC News, it was recently rumoured that the actress, who was to play the role of Nezha alongside co-stars Huang Xiaoming and Louis Koo, was fired from the film after enraging the studio with her erratic behaviour.

Tiffany stated that Cecilia previously proposed an idea of not getting any wages for the movie due to her debt to China Star. However, she still gave the actress HKD2.11 million in a red envelope without a contract, stating that she trusted Cecilia to change her ways.

However, the manager stated that Cecilia did not show up for filming and stopped answering her phone after the Lunar New Year. She was allegedly angry that Huang Xiaoming and Louis Koo were given a priority in filming, and called China Star's boss, Charles Heung, to rant about it.

"I respect my husband's decision not to use her ever again. This incident hurt me so much. I gave her a chance and she took it for granted," said Tiffany, who previously made headlines herself for her criticism against actor-filmmaker Stephen Chow.

She added that the role of Nezha had since been given to mainland actor Wen Zhang, adding that they originally wanted to cast him in the role, but changed it to Cecilia due to conflicting schedule.

"But since the delay, we were able to get him back," she said.

Tiffany also left a message to the actress, and urged her to see a doctor for her issue.

Cecilia has not responded at the time of writing.
