Christian McCaffrey is saying goodbye to his house in North Carolina, which the 49ers running back has listed days before the Super Bowl — and over a year after being traded to San Francisco by the Carolina Panthers.

The eight-acre property in Mooresville, NC, located on Lake Norman, was listed last week for $12.5 million, four years after selling for $7.5 million in 2020.

The 11,831 square-foot home features six bedrooms, a one-bedroom guesthouse above a three-car garage, and plenty of features that could attract buyers — from a basement gym to the boat (named after McCaffrey's fiancée Olivia Culpo), Wildcat ATV, jet ski and golf cart that are also included in the sale.

The home was listed by Victoria Speer of The Agency Charlotte.

The listing comes just days before McCaffrey, 27, is set to join his 49ers as they take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The team acquired him in October 2022 from the Panthers in exchange for four draft picks.

His home, the Grand Lac Chateau, was " inspired by the allure of the French countryside" and created by JJ Barja of Elite Design Group in 2015, per a release, which notes that it is still the "highest-priced property ever sold in the Charlotte region’s esteemed Canopy MLS system."

It also features 7.2 bathrooms, a tree-lined driveway, 12-ft ceilings on the main and lower levels and more. The home's great room includes a double-sided fireplace and windows that overlook both an outdoor pool and the local Lake Norman.

The home's main level features a study, a dining room, a health room, a chef's kitchen and more, as its upper level includes three bedrooms, a loft, and an additional room. A release notes that its lower level is an "entertainer’s paradise," incorporating a "sound-proofed home theater," a wine cellar, a family room with a bar, a spa bath and more.

Beyond the saltwater pool, the property's outdoors elements include a "private beach area complete with a dock" and a spa. The home itself also has an elevator, eight fireplaces and white oak hardwood flooring, and is described as "an architectural masterpiece that embodies sheer excellence in every aspect."

Other notable aspects of the home include a two-story closet, a hidden panic room, a dock and a "larger gym filled with the workout equipment" that the NFL star incorporated inside his garage, per the release.

Back in October 2022, Culpo, 31, celebrated her partner's trade from Carolina to San Francisco when she posted a touching Instagram clip dedicated to McCaffrey. In the clip, she wrote that she was "so proud" of McCaffrey.

"This city stole my heart and I'll never forget the memories and people who made the last 3+ years so special," she wrote of their time in North Carolina. "I'll miss you all so much and you'll always hold a special place in my heart. I'm so proud of you Christian! Seeing your light shine is one of my favorite things in life and I'm beyond excited and grateful for this next chapter in Cali, the place I've called home for the last 8 years. Niners Nation, let's go!"

Just this past week, she also toasted the 49ers 34-31 win over the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship, writing on Instagram that "watching the love of your life live out his dream is the best feeling in the world."
