Sutton Foster and Aaron Tveit have heaps of praise for stage and screen star Hugh Jackman.

While speaking to PEOPLE at the 2024 Drama Desk Awards on Monday, June 10, the event co-hosts opened up about their experiences working with the Deadpool & Wolverine star, 55.

"He's one of the greatest guys ever, an incredible costar," says Foster, 49, who starred alongside him in The Music Man, which ran from December 2021 to January 2023 on Broadway. "And yeah, I think everyone already knows that, though."

Tveit, 40, who starred alongside Jackman in the 2012 big-screen adaptation of Les Misérables, feels the same way.

"I think it's good to say it, though. I did the Les Misérables film with him, and I couldn't agree more," he tells PEOPLE.

When asked if they learned anything from Jackman, Foster says, "How to be an amazing leader."

"I would say the same thing," adds Tveit. "He was so unbelievable on that set. Had so much more to do than everyone else and handled it quite great."

Apart from being able to name Jackman as a former costar, Foster and Tveit previously shared the stage opposite one another in a limited run of the Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, which ended in May.

Another person to praise Jacksman's leadership was Ryan Reynolds, who recently spoke with PEOPLE in a joint interview with Jackman, celebrating the release of PEOPLE's first-ever collectible side-by-side covers.

“I learned so much about what it means to lead a set when I watched you,” Reynolds, 47, told Jackman. “What it means to be gracious to not just the people that can change your destiny, but everybody. I watched you know every member of the crew's names, have a working dialogue with every single part of that crew and those people. Everyone around you felt so seen.”

"I heard my name, ‘Ryan!’ in between these trailers as I was walking. And it was you,” says Reynolds. “Just the fact that you knew my name meant so much to me. And you came over, you gave me a big hug and you said, ‘Welcome aboard. It's all going to be fine. We're going to make you comfortable.' ”
