Sverkos leaves Sochaux for Banik Ostrava

Czech striker Vaclav Sverkos will join Czech top-flight side Banik Ostrava on a five-year deal after leaving France's Sochaux, the Czech regional daily Moravskoslezsky denik said Monday. The 27-year-old Sverkos, with three goals in 11 games for the Czech Republic, is returning to his home team, which is struggling at the bottom of the Czech league table with no points from three games. "I feel Banik needs help right now, more than ever before," said Sverkos, who has also played for Borussia Monchengladbach, Hertha Berlin, Austria Vienna and Greek side Panionios.
