‘Sweet Magnolias’ Season 3 Is Premiering Sooner Than Expected

The countdown to Sweet Magnolias season three on Netflix has officially begun.

Today, JoAnna García Swisher announced on Instagram that Sweet Magnolias season three will premiere on—drumroll, please—July 20. *Sets calendar reminder*

The 43-year-old actress (who plays Maddie) shared a slideshow on Instagram featuring a selfie with her co-stars, Heather Headley (Helen) and Brooke Elliott (Dana Sue), followed by the announcement picture.

The caption read, “I’m so excited to welcome you all back to Serenity, July 20th, 2023 on @netflix for #SweetMagnoliasSeason3.”

Sweet Magnolias (which is based on the best-selling book series by Sherryl Woods) tells the story of three childhood best friends—Maddie, Helen and Dana Sue—who never left their hometown of Serenity, South Carolina. Together, they are raising children, navigating divorces and operating a self-owned spa.

In addition to the main trio, the show also stars Jamie Lynn Spears (Noreen), Chris Klein (Bill), Justin Bruening (Cal), Carson Rowland (Tyler) Logan Allen (Kyle), Anneliese Judge (Annie), Brandon Quinn (Ronnie) and Dion Johnstone (Erik).

The show’s return shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to dedicated Sweet Magnolias fans, especially since the show was renewed last year. At the time, Swisher celebrated the exciting news on Instagram. She shared a snapshot of herself standing beside her two co-stars and wrote in the caption, “We are back! Season 3 of Sweet Magnolias is happening!”

Come July 20, you know where to find us.
