Taylor Swift has donated $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the mother of two who was killed during Wednesday’s mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade.

On Friday, Swift, 34, made two separate $50,000 donations to the GoFundMe page that has been set up to help Lopez-Galvan’s family following her death.

“Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift,” wrote the singer in the 'Words of Support' section on the page, which as of Friday morning had received donations totaling over $180,000.

Lopez-Galvan, 43, was shot at the end of the Chiefs’ parade in Kansas City, Missouri. The radio DJ’s friends confirmed her death to The Kansas City Star, while her employer, KKFI 90.1 FM, also confirmed she was killed in the incident in a social media post this week. The Kansas City Star reported that Lopez-Galvan died during surgery after suffering a gunshot wound to her abdomen.

The bio on the GoFundMe page — titled the 'Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan Memorial — describes Lopez-Galvan as “an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many.”

“This fund has been set up to benefit the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan. Lisa was celebrating the Chiefs Super Bowl Victory parade when senselessly killed,” the page reads.

“She is survived by two children and her husband of 22 years. We ask that you continue to keep her family in your prayers as we grieve the loss of her life. This fund will help provide vital financial support to her family as they process this unthinkable tragedy. Any amount is appreciated.”

Swift’s boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, rode in Wednesday’s parade following the Chiefs’ 2024 Super Bowl win over the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. While Swift attended the Super Bowl game, she was not present at the parade.

Following the shooting, which also injured 22 people, Kelce, 34, spoke out about the incident on social media.

“I am heartbroken over the tragedy that took place today,” the sportsman wrote in a post shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) Wednesday. “My heart is with all who came out to celebrate with us and have been affected. KC, you mean the world to me.”

In a statement shared with CNN on Thursday, Lopez-Galvan’s family said they were “heartbroken” at her death.

“Lisa leaves behind her husband of 22 years, Mike, and two children, Marc, and Adriana,” the statement read in part. “We ask to please keep our family in your prayers as we grieve the loss of Lisa’s death while also supporting our other loved ones who were impacted in this senseless act.”

According to CNN, Lopez-Galvan was attending the parade with family members, her husband and children, when she was shot. Three other family members, including Lopez-Galvan’s son Marc, were also injured in the shooting, according to the outlet.

Lopez-Galvan’s brother Beto Lopez paid tribute to his sister on Thursday as he told CNN’s Anderson Cooper his sibling was “a very loving, caring, and devoted mother.”

“We have tragic situations like this one that occur unfortunately way too often and a lot of time individuals get lost as just statistics or numbers,” Lopez said. “She did a lot for this community and the Kansas City area, raising money for a lot of charitable events and organizations, and it’s something we’ll be very proud of forever.”

At a press conference on Thursday, Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said the shooting was not terrorism-related and is believed to have stemmed from a dispute.

“There was no nexus to terrorism or homegrown violent extremism,” Graves said. “This appeared to be a dispute between several people that ended in gunfire.” The age of the victims ranges from 8 to 47, and at least half of those injured were under the age of 16, Graves said.
