Taylor Swift's extraordinary acts of kindness
Taylor Swift is taking time to be kind
Taylor Swift has shown incredible kindness as she kicked off her Eras tour in the UK.
Known for her kindness, the 33-year-old Love Story hitmaker loves to find sweet ways to surprise her fans and often makes charitable donations. During her UK tour, she will perform to as many as 1.2 million fans over the course of the 15 sold-out UK shows.
The singer may have only been in the UK since Friday 7 June but she already has started to sprinkle some of her magic. We take a look at her kind acts since she has touched down in the UK.
Donating to foodbanks
Swift has donated an undisclosed amount to Edinburgh Food Project, which runs seven foodbanks across Edinburgh - where the singer is currently performing. The foodbanks help people get emergency food provision for three square meals for three days. As well as food, the charity provides toiletries and household cleaning supplies to people in need.
Edinburgh Food Project's Fiona Anderson lifted the lid to Yahoo UK about how it happened. The mega star's team called the charity to let them know about the generous donation.
Edinburgh Food Project's Fiona Anderson told us: "We were thrilled to get a call from Taylor’s team to let us know she would be donating to Edinburgh Food Project. I can say that it will make a big difference to the people we support.
"The money will go towards running our seven foodbanks across the city which support 6000+ people every year. We’re all hugely grateful to Taylor and we’ve been overwhelmed by the response to our thank you posts on social media.
"We’re a relatively small charity so it’s been great to have the donation shine a light on the vital work that foodbanks are doing. Not just ours, but those all over the UK."
As fans gathered at @MurrayfieldStad on Friday for the first of three record-breaking gigs, we found out that @taylorswift13 would be making a donation to support foodbanks across the city 🪩Thank you so much Taylor 🫶

Director of the Edinburgh Food Project, Bethany Biggar, added: "We are thrilled that Taylor has decided to support the foodbanks and leave a lasting impact on Edinburgh. Things are really tough for a lot of people right now, so it is lovely to see someone like Taylor spreading such positivity."
The Edinburgh Food Project shared the kind act on their social media accounts.
Giving away the hat
Swift is always coming up with different ways to surprise and delight her fans. One of them is a sweet tradition where she gives away her hat during her hit song 22. The singer first started giving away her hat to a young fan during the US leg of her tour at a show in Glenfield, Arizona.
Little girl Pippa Bartholomew, 10, revealed it was a dream come true to receive the hat from Swift at a concert in Edinburgh over the weekend. She went to the concert with her mum - with whom she lives in in Lenzie, East Dunbartonshire.
She told the BBC: "I feel like I'm in a dream. I said to my mum, is this a dream? Is this real? I was in complete disbelief."
The mother and daughter were delighted to secure last minute tickets for the tour at 2pm the same day. After receiving her hat, she shared the sweet exchange she had with the pop star.
She added: "I got pulled up. I knelt on the little stool below the stage. She did a dance routine then she came down and she hugged me. We had a little conversation and she gave me the hat.
"So I said thank you so much. She said, 'You're welcome. Do you want a hug?' I said, 'Absolutely.' I said, 'I love you.' She said, 'I love you too. This is for you to keep.' She did a little dance for me and blew me a kiss."
