Taylor Swift Performs ‘This Is What You Came For’ During ‘Eras Tour’ Show in Liverpool

Swifties in Liverpool were treated to the ultimate deep cut from Taylor Swift’s discography — Calvin Harris’ global smash with Rihanna, “This Is What You Came For,” a song Swift co-wrote — as the surprise song for the “Eras Tour” show on Friday night.

For her second night in Liverpool, Swift performed the EDM single, weaving it into an acoustic medley that also included her song “Gold Rush,” and a piano cover of “The Great War,” and vault track, “You’re Losing Me.”

For some context, Swift co-wrote “This Is What You Came For” under the pseudonym “Nils Sjöberg” in the same year the pair were dating. Harris later confirmed the speculation that Swift had worked on the song, and that she “initially wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym,” in a series of tweets. “And she sings on a little bit of it too — Amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual,” he wrote at the time.

It was reported that Swift and Harris mutually chose to hide Swift’s credit in order to not draw attention to their romantic relationship. Eventually, the pseudonym was dropped from the credits and replaced with Swift’s real name.

Swift previously delivered a live rendition of “This Is What You Came For” as the headliner for 2016’s Formula One Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.

Swift recently completed over 100 concerts as part of her massive “Eras Tour” run since it began in Arizona in March 2023. She’s since put out an all-new 31-song album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which continues to break records on music charts globally. Despite rumors that the “Eras Tour” would continue through next year, Swift recently affirmed that her trek will come to a close with final dates in North America in December of this year.
