Before Swifties can celebrate Taylor Swift’s birthday by watching her Eras Tour concert film from home, they’re being treated to an early surprise.

Ahead of the on-demand release of The Eras Tour on Dec. 13, fans are getting a tease of the unseen footage featured in the extended, rental version of the film.

On Tuesday, TODAY premiered a clip of the pop superstar’s performance of the fan-favorite track off 2019’s Lover, “The Archer,” which was originally omitted from the theatrical release.

In the brief clip, the Grammy winner, 33, is in the midst of performing her Lover set — dressed in her pastel-colored Atelier Versace bodysuit — and seen gliding down the stadium show’s long runway.

“Combat, I'm ready for combat / I say I don't want that, but what if I do? / 'Cause cruelty wins in the movies / I've got a hundred thrown-out speeches I almost said to you,” the hitmaker croons while strutting down the stage.

Just before the preview on TODAY ends, it also shows close-up shots of the singer-songwriter as she grins and sweetly makes eye contact with the crowd.

Fans will be able to watch the entire performance of “The Archer” starting tomorrow when The Eras Tour (Extended Version) arrives on digital on-demand — and the synth-pop song isn’t the only new addition to the concert film.

After the theatrical version cut several songs from the setlist in order to adjust its run time, three tracks will be added back in on the digital release. In addition to “The Archer,” fans will also be able to watch “Long Live” from 2010’s Speak Now and “Wildest Dreams” from 2014’s 1989.

Originally, the cinematic version of Swift’s career-spanning 2023 tour came in at just over 2 hours and 45 minutes, shortened from the live show runtime of 3 hours and 15 minutes. Meaning, the Extended Version will be about 15 minutes longer.

As the concert film directed by Sam Wrench was shot over the course of her August performances at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, a handful of other portions of the setlist still won’t be included in the on-demand version. “Cardigan” and “No Body, No Crime” with Haim, which were played at the L.A. dates won’t be included, and other songs from the tour like “Invisible String,” “Nothing New” with Phoebe Bridgers, the “Seven” interlude and “'Tis the Damn Season” also won’t be featured.

The Midnights artist announced The Eras Tour (Extended Version) in late November when she revealed that it would be available to rent at home starting on Dec. 13 in honor of her 34th birthday.

At the time, she shared the news by posting a clip of “Wildest Dreams” from her concert on social media. In the caption she wrote, “Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!”

She continued, “Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including ‘Wildest Dreams,’ ‘The Archer’ and ‘Long Live’ will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon starting on … you guessed it, December 13 🫶💋.”

The Eras Tour was released into theaters on Oct. 13 and instantly shattered box office records. Not only did it break records for first-day ticket sales, it became the highest-grossing concert film in history.

Its digital release comes just several days after it earned a Golden Globe nomination. On Monday, the movie received a nod in the cinematic and box office achievement category, a new category at the award show that honors projects that garnered major blockbuster success.
