Team SoloMid (TSM), one of the biggest esports organisations in the world, have finally announced their entry into the competitive Dota 2 scene on Wednesday (26 January) with the signing of North American team Undying.

TSM's new Dota 2 roster is comprised of Peruvian carry player Enzo "Timado" Gianoli, Canadian midlaner Jonathan "Bryle" De Guia, Czech offlaner Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek, Canadian captain and position 4 support David "MoonMeander" Tan, as well as South Korean position 5 support Kim "DuBu" Doo-Young.

The Undying roster have been one of the best teams in North America since their formation in January 2021. In the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season, Undying finished third in the Winter and Spring Tours of Division I of the North American regional league.

The team also qualified for The International 10 (TI10) through the regional qualifiers and finished in 13th-16th place.

Undying improved on their results from last season and began the 2021-2022 DPC season by taking second place in the Winter Tour regional league.

The roster will soon be making their debut under the TSM banner in North America's online Regional Finals, which replaced the canceled Winter Major and will take place in mid-February.

TSM's entry into Dota 2 is a welcome boon for the game's North American competitive scene, which has been struggling due to a lack of organisational support for most of the teams in the region. TSM are now only the second major organisation competing in the region alongside Evil Geniuses.

TSM are one of the most recognised esports brands in the world and are known most for their League of Legends (LoL) team, which competes in North America's LoL Championship Series.

Aside from their LoL squad, TSM also field rosters in VALORANT, PUBG Mobile, Fortnite: Battle Royale, and Apex Legends, among others. The organisation's reach has even extended beyond esports, as they list Chess Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura under their banner.
