Teen on e-scooter arrested for injuring 6-year-old boy in collision

A 17-year-old youth has been arrested for an electric scooter collision that allegedly caused the injury of a six-year-old boy.

Police said the incident, which was reported on Tuesday (24 October), happened in the vicinity of Blk 889A Woodlands Drive 50. The injured boy was conveyed to Kandang Kerbau Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Yahoo News Singapore understands that the boy, who received outpatient treatment for his injury, was walking with his parents under an MRT track when he was hit by the e-scooter.

The teenage rider was arrested on Wednesday and is under investigation for an act which endangers life or the personal safety of others.

First-time offenders who are found guilty of the offence face a fine of up to $2,500 or a jail term of up six months, or both.
