Telemundo Sets 2024-25 Programming Slate: ‘El Señor De Los Cielos’ Spinoff, ‘Señora Acero’ Reboot, La Casa de Los Famosos’ & More

Telemundo has revealed its upcoming 2024-25 multiplatform programming offerings including a slate of reality TV shows, scripted dramas, live events and specials, news and sports.

Telemundo’s Spanish language Celebrity Big Brother-inspired series La Casa de Los Famosos returns for a fifth season, alongside last summer’s breakout hit Los 50 and new seasons of Top Chef VIP and the network’s longest-running reality competition, Exaltón Estados Unidos. New titles include La Isla: Desafío Extremo, a survival reality show featuring a mix of celebrities and fans and Sin Fronteras (w/t), a new global ‘banda’ competition.

Scripted

For fans of the highly-rated drama series El Señor de los Cielos—currently airing its ninth season starring Rafael Amaya— the franchise is expanding. La Dinastía Casillas (w/t) will follow a new generation led by Rutila, Ismael and the heirs of the Casillas who are ready to prove that the family legacy runs through their veins. But as the dynasty is faced with challenges, including their father’s enemies who are seeking revenge and power, the Casillas assert they will not back down from any threat.

Highlights also include Sed de Venganza, starring Danilo Carrera and Isabella Castillo, La Familia (w/t) chronicling the life of a notorious crime family and Perseguida (w/t), a reinterpretation of the dramatic series Señora Acero.

In Perseguida, Gloria Guzmán’s seemingly perfect life turns into a nightmare when hitmen invade her wedding, killing her fiancé and father of her young son, PGR commander Juan José Fierro. Abandoned by her family in the wake of the scandal, Gloria becomes targeted by the media and government over Fierro’s dirty activities. Losing all she holds dear, Gloria ventures into the seedy underworld of money laundering to save her son. Determined to conquer the crime bosses in charge, she must unleash her most dangerous weapons – her cunning and intelligence – to reclaim her life.

Telemundo’s live events and specials include The Billboard Latin Music Awards/Premios Billboard de la Música Latina and Billboard’s Latin Women in Music. The network will once again serve as the exclusive Spanish-language home for the 73rd edition of the Miss Universe Competition, airing live from Mexico in 2024, in addition to seasonal specials from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the New Year’s Eve celebration, Bienvenido 2025.

Sports

This summer, Telemundo will bring viewers all the latest from the 2024 Paris Olympic Games featured both via linear and streaming on Universo and Peacock in Spanish. Coverage will include Men’s and Women’s Soccer Competitions, the Opening Ceremonies for the first time in Spanish, and stories highlighting the athletes and disciplines most relevant to the Hispanic community. Telemundo is the exclusive Spanish-language home of the Olympic Games through 2032.

News

The network’s award-winning news division Noticias Telemundo is expanding its offering amidst a crucial election year with Noticias Telemundo Ahora, a FAST channel now available on NoticiasTelemundo.com, the Telemundo app, the Noticias Telemundo app and Xumo Play, with Peacock and other platforms rolling out later this year.

Earlier this year, the network launched Decisión 2024, an election-year multiplatform news and civic engagement initiative across Telemundo’s network, local stations, digital platforms and national and local partners. Decisión 2024 features expanded election news and campaign coverage, in-depth national and local Latino voter polls and town halls, among other important features.
