Texas Man Pleads Guilty to Kidnapping After 13-Year-Old’s Note Led to Her Rescue

A Texas man pleaded guilty to kidnapping a thirteen-year-old girl who aided in her own escape by flashing a note saying “help me” to a passerby when she was left in the car one day. Steven Sablan forced the young girl into his car at gun-point and then drove her over 1,300 miles in two days from San Antonio to Long Beach California. He pleaded guilty to one count of kidnapping, and admitted to sexually assaulting the girl multiple times.
