Three top awards for Singapore

Singapore property developments took home three prestigious awards from the 2014 MIPIM Awards, which took place in the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, last week.

More than 150 real estate property developments from 39 countries entered the annual awards, with a jury of industry professionals, headed by Michael Strong, the Chairman and CEO EMEA at CBRE, judging the winners in seven categories.

Picking up the award for Best Innovative Green Building was Gardens by the Bay. The development was designed by Grant Associates, Wilkinson Eyre Architects and Atelier Ten, which provided environmental design and building engineering services. The National Parks Board Singapore is the developer. Gardens by the Bay also collected the Special Jury Award.

Best Residential Development went to The Oliv, developed by TG (Balmoral) Pte Ltd. Located on Balmoral Road, The Oliv is a 12-storey residential building offering two garden-style apartments, 18 sky suites and three penthouses. The architect is W Architects Pte Ltd.

Brazil was one of MIPIM's countries of honour in 2014, and picking up the Best Brazilian Project for its Bosque das Acacias development was EcoHouse. More than 700 Singaporeans have invested in this social housing project Located in São Gonçalo do Amarante in Natal, north east Brazil, this mixed-use residential community was designed by HCP Architecture & Engineering and is currently under construction.
