After four days packed with intense Dota 2 action, The International 11's Group Stage has finally come to a close.

Day 4 of the Group Stage ended with two North American teams, TSM FTX and Soniqs Esports, eliminated from the tournament.

Also failing to make the Main Stage of the tournament were Eastern European squad BetBoom Team and Southeast Asia regional winners Talon Esports.

In Group A, Western European powerhouse OG managed to turn things around, winning their last series against China heavyweights RNG to squeak into the upper brackets, joining PSG.LGD, Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses.

Meanwhile, BOOM Esports managed to make the lower brackets after a surprise victory over Group A leaders EG, joining Hokori, Gaimin Gladiators and RNG in the pool for the nerve-wreaking Best of 1.

It was particularly heartbreaking for RNG, who had looked so strong in the early days of the Group Stage, only to have their team hit by COVID and having to settle for a lower bracket slot.

Over on Group B, Tundra solidified their status as Western Europe force with a 14-4 record, the only team in the Group Stage to not lose a single series.

Joining them in the upper bracket are Secret, Aster and Thunder Awaken.

Meanwhile, Entity had to fight tooth and nail against a Talon squad looking for their maiden TI Main Stage appearance.

They eventually defeated the plucky SEA squad, but near bottom of the Group Stage and having to fight in the Bo1 was probably not where the team that made Secret and Liquid fight through the Last Chance Qualifiers for their shot at TI11 thought they would be at this stage of the tournament.

Another surprise for the Lower Bracket from Group B are Team Spirit, the defending champions from TI10. They are joined by Beastcoast and Fnatic, rounding up the list of teams that will be in that anxiety-inducing first round.

Here’s how all the matches in the final day of TI11’s Group Stage went down:

  • Entity 0-2 Talon Esports

  • Team Aster 0-2 Team Secret

  • Thunder Awaken 1-1 TSM

  • Team Spirit 1-1 Beastcoast

  • Tundra Esports 2-0 Fnatic

The Group Stage also ended with tiebreakers to determine some of the teams that got eliminated.
