Tina Knowles is revealing some new details about her younger daughter Solange.

“Solange was conceived on the Nile in Egypt,” Beyoncé and Solange’s mom, 70, revealed while guest starring on the May 23 episode of Vogue’s The Run-Through podcast.

Knowles then explained how she named the 37-year-old songwriter.

“I thought I was having a boy and I wanted to name him Niles. But little did I know, here came this girl,” she said, adding that she found “Solange” in a previously-gifted French baby name book.

“I went to Paris. I bought a baby name book in Paris for my girlfriend, and she was gonna have a baby,” Knowles continued, “And then the next year, I would end up having a baby, so I pulled that old book out.”

The grandma of four also recently revealed the name her grandkids call her on an episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna earlier this month. Knowles is grandma to Beyoncé's children Blue Ivy, 12 and twins Rumi and Sir, 6, as well as Solange's son Daniel (who goes by Julez), 19.

"It’s the best. With grandkids you don’t have the pressure of taking responsibility for how they get to turn out, so you get to just indulge them and let them have noisy toys that drive their parents crazy," Knowles joked. "It’s just the best. They are the best. My grandkids are all super creative and I just love them to death."

"What do they call you?" Hoda Kotb asked.

"They call me Grandma," Knowles responded.

After raising two music superstars, Knowles told Kotb that it’s too early to tell if the grandkids will follow their moms down the musical route.

"We’re watching but you know, they still have a lot of time. They’re all super great artists, like visual artists, and very smart," the proud grandma responded. "We don’t know what’s gonna happen. Whatever they want to do, we support that."
