Tom Hardy Says His Son Louis, 16, Is His Biggest Critic in Rare Update: ‘Like a Peer’
The actor shares Louis with ex-girlfriend Rachael Speed, as well as two younger children with wife Charlotte Riley
Tom Hardy has revealed his eldest child is his biggest critic.
In an interview with E! News, the actor, 46, gave a rare update on his life as a dad to three kids — Louis, 16, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Rachael Speed, as well as two younger children with wife Charlotte Riley.
The Venom star shared that Louis won’t admit if he likes or dislikes his dad’s films, but he will offer some constructive criticism. "I mean, he wouldn't ever tell me," Hardy said. "He's 16, you know what I mean? He told me what I'm getting right or wrong."

The actor even joked that his son may actually know better, saying, "the next gen — the 2.0 — is designed to be better than you."
"But that doesn't mean he doesn't back me or support me or look out for me," Hardy continued, "and offer information that's useful in order to be better with what I do."
He added, "It comes from a position of like, 'Look, you know this.’ He deconstructs what I'm doing like a peer would."

While discussing The Bikeriders, director Jeff Nichols' upcoming film about the a 1960s Chicago outlaw motorcycle gang led by Hardy's character, the actor said none of his children have any interest in motorcycles.
"They're too noisy," he explained. "My eldest, his friend hurt his foot really badly — tore his foot off wearing substandard footwear on a bike. So, he's very like, ‘Don't ride bikes.' "
And when it comes to his two younger kids, Hardy said, "They're not caught up in the speed thing. Before they heard the engine, they were like, 'No, no.' "
Hardy and Riley, 42, welcomed their youngest child in January 2019, while their first was born in October 2015. The couple hasn’t confirmed the names or genders of their little ones.
