Tony Wong plans "Dragon Tiger Gate" series and film

31 Jul – Famed manhua artist Tony Wong recently revealed that he has plans to launch a series of film and television projects for "Dragon Tiger Gate", which was based on his comic series "Oriental Heroes".

As reported on Mingpao, speaking to the media at the release of Tiger Might Tourbillon Wrist Watch at the Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Tony stated that he is currently in discussion with a number of investors about the said project.

"Production will begin next year, and I have already thought about the casting. We will probably cast some of the previous "Dragon Tiger Gate" stars, but nothing has been decided yet," he said.

It is noted that the previous 2006 film adaptation starred Donnie Yen, Nicholas Tse, Shawn Yue, Yuen Wah and Dong Jie.

Created in 1970, "Oriental Heroes" featured stories about young people living in public housing estates in Hong Kong fighting gangsters and criminals.
