SINGAPORE — Avid concert-goers in Singapore will be in for a treat in the coming months, with Cantopop star Andy Hui, Singapore songstress Kit Chan and Taiwanese singer-songwriter Ricky Hsiao all announcing upcoming concert dates in the country.
Hong Kong singer-actor Hui will be performing at the Sands Grand Ballroom on 1 July, as part of his "Human Live" world tour.
This will be his first solo concert comeback after a three-year hiatus, and he will be singing his biggest hits as well as newer tunes, such as "Lover A" and "Am I Really In Your Heart".
The 55-year-old, who first rose to stardom when he emerged as runner-up in the annual New Talent Singing Awards in 1986. In 2004, Hui was named as one of the "New Four Heavenly Kings", replacing the honour once awarded to Hong Kong pop icons Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok, and Leon Lai.
Tickets for Hui's concert are priced from $88 to $328 and will go on sale on Wednesday (24 May) on Marina Bay Sands' website. Sands Rewards LifeStyle members will enjoy 10 per cent off ticket prices.
Kit Chan's Little Things 30th Anniversary Concert to debut new song
Meanwhile, 50-year-old Chan will be celebrating her 30th anniversary as a singer with a three-night concert titled "Little Things - Kit Chan 30th Anniversary Concert" at the Sands Theatre from 8 to 10 September.
The 100-minute concerts will feature a set list of fan favourites, songs that have never been performed before, as well as the first live rendition of Chan’s 30th-anniversary song, which was specially written by long-time friend and music collaborator Tom Pan.
The concerts will be under the musical direction of Bang Wenfu, who had previously worked on Chan’s 25th anniversary concert, studio albums and singles. Outfits for the concert will be designed by Paris-based Singaporean designer Andrew Gn.
"I realised it was really all the little things that mattered that kind of led me to this point, and not big milestones," said Chan, upon reflecting on her long career in the music and entertainment business.
Tickets for her concert range from $88 to $672 excluding booking fees, and will be available from Friday (26 May) via Marina Bay Sands' ticketing website and SISTIC.
Ricky Hsiao 2023 Live in Singapore
Taiwanese singer-songwriter Hsiao, 46, will be performing his first solo concert in Singapore at the Sands Theatre on 19 August.
The visually-impaired singer made his debut in 2002 with the studio album "You Are My Eyes", and has since released 15 albums, with the most recent being "A Storytelling Song" last year.
His Singapore concert promises to be an uplifting night of classic tunes and is under the direction of Chantal Prudhomme and Dream Nation.
