Toronto restaurant accuses Zachary Quinto of acting like 'an entitled child'

The official Instagram account for Manita said the actor was "an amazing Spock, but terrible customer."

A trendy Toronto restaurant isn't questioning Zachary Quinto's acting skills, but they do have some notes about his public behavior.

"Zachary Quinto — an amazing Spock, but terrible customer," the restaurant Manita wrote in a Story posted to its official Instagram account over the weekend. "Yelled at our staff like an entitled child after he didn't reply to two texts to inform him his table was ready and refused to believe the empty tables in the dining room weren't available for him despite being politely informed they were spoken for. Made our host cry and the rest of our brunch diners feel uncomfortable."

The post continued, "Mr. Quinto, take your bad vibes somewhere else, we have many lovely celebrities joining us at Manita but you are NOT one of them."

On Monday, June 3, Manita expanded on its comments with a new Instagram post. "This isn't the first time, nor will it be the last time an irate guest has taken their frustrations out on our staff," the caption read.

"Manita is deeply grateful for our most incredible, friendly, gracious guests... who may give us constructive feedback from time to time," the restaurant continued. "To all the other Zachary Quintos out there, on behalf of restaurant workers everywhere: We aren't above criticism, but we are above being demeaned."

When reached for comment by Entertainment Weekly, representatives for Manita said they stand by its Instagram post. Representatives for Quinto did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.

Known for his roles in genre television, Quinto first broke through with his performance as superpower-stealing serial killer Sylar in NBC's Heroes. He then played Spock in J.J. Abrams' 2009 Star Trek reboot film, taking over the role of the U.S.S. Enterprise's trusty science officer from original Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy and eventually passing it on to Ethan Peck (who plays the character in Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds). He also starred as serial killer Charlie Manx on AMC's adaptation of N0S4A2 and voices Robot (a.k.a Rudy Connors) on the animated superhero series Invincible.

Manita acknowledged Quinto's work on Star Trek by using an image of the Enterprise as the background of its Instagram post.
