Tottenham: Brentford weigh up Sergio Reguilon loan bid to ease injury crisis
Brentford are weighing up a loan move for Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon.
The left-back is free to leave Spurs this month after Manchester United cut short his loan deal.
Brentford have made new full-backs a priority this month amid an injury crisis.
Thomas Frank has lost Rico Henry to a serious knee injury and Aaron Hickey also out after suffering a significant hamstring in November.
Reguilon is considered a viable option for the Bees. The 27-year-old joined United on loan last summer as cover for Luke Shaw but made just seven starts under Erik ten Hag before being sent back to Spurs.
Despite only naming eight substitutes for Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Manchester United, Ange Postecoglou left Reguilon out of his squad at Old Trafford.
His contract expires in 2025 and Spurs are keen to cash in on him.
Postecoglou has made it clear that Reguilon, who joined Spurs in a £32million deal from Real Madrid in 2020, is not part of his plans.
Destiny Udogie has nailed down the starting spot at left-back, with Ben Davies considered a capable deputy when fit.
Ryan Sessegnon recently returned from injury, although he missed the United draw with a fresh injury.
