New in town: Fro~Yo! — Dessert parlour with frozen yoghurt cubes & ondeh ondeh gelato

For people living around Choa Chu Kang, your dessert options just got a bit sweeter with Fro~Yo!, a new dessert spot at Yew Tee Point that opened on 5 Dec 2022. Fro-Yo specialises in frozen goodies such as frozen yoghurt (aka froyo) and gelato.

Fro~Yo! first took form when the owner, who was incredibly health-conscious, was impressed by froyo cubes sold overseas. They were relatively healthy with superfood toppings such as nuts, fruits and seeds. For 2 years, she developed froyo cubes with local flavours in mind such as cempedak and mao shan wang durian

Additionally, she teamed up with Uncle Tom Yam of the former Ice Cream Frenzy after convincing him not to retire. Uncle Tom is now her gelato chef cum cafe manager, and he brings 13 years of experience with him.

The Frozen Yoghurt Cubes come in 4 sizes: Petite (S$4.80), Medium (S$6.50), Large (S$8.50) and Party (S$15.80). There are a number of homemade flavours to choose from such as Macadamia Rose Tea, Charcoal Coconut Cheese, Citrus Lemon and Lemon Salt, Honeydew with Wafer Biscuits and Mao Shan Wang with Granola

Equally plenty are the gelato flavours on offer, such as Soursop with Cranberries, Ondeh Ondeh, Aussie Cheese with Strawberries, Cookie Monster and Cream and Unicorn Vanilla, all of which are handmade by Uncle Tom.

There are several ways to enjoy the gelato. You can choose to have it in a Gelato Fruit Bowl (S$12.80) with 2 scoops and 2 choices of fresh fruits in a waffle bowl, or you could also have it with a Bubble Waffle (S$10.80/S$13.80) or Cone (S$1.50) that comes in 2 flavours, Lavender Earl Grey and Buttermilk.

You can opt for something warm from their Tea and Coffee options such as Latte Macchiato (S$4.50/S$5), Joy – Premium White Tea Rose (S$4.80) or even their Dark Chocolate Lava Cake (S$9.80)

Frozen yoghurt cubes are certainly an innovative creation, and Fro~Yo!’s handcrafted versions are said to be lesser in calories yet richer in taste. Who knew these frozen treats could be guilt-free?
