The Traitors Australia confirmed to air on BBC this summer
A new series of The Traitors is landing on BBC this summer, and this time the contestants are hailing from Australia.
The BBC has announced it has acquired The Traitors Australia, which will begin airing on BBC Three at 8pm on Sunday, July 9, with all 12 episodes being available as a boxset on BBC iPlayer at 6am on the same day.
The Traitors Australia sees a group of contestants arrive at a historic luxury hotel in the Southern Highlands as Faithful contestants are given the chance to share a prize fund worth up to AU$250,000.

But, like the UK version, a group of four Traitors, chosen by host Rodger Corser, will be amongst the Faithfuls, hoping claim the prize for themselves.
Speaking about the series, Nasfim Haque, Head of Content at BBC Three, said: "The Traitors is an addictively fiendish format and I am so pleased that viewers can get their summer fix of treachery and suspicion as we head Down Under for the Australian version of the show on BBC Three and iPlayer.”

Last month, the UK version of the show picked up the BAFTA for Best Reality and Constructed Factual Programme. Speaking to Digital Spy at the awards, the show's producer Mike Cotton teased what changes are coming for series two.
"I think it's going to be totally different," Cotton said. "It's that [the cast of series 1] turned up to play a game and not become famous, but I think for series 2 it's going to be different.
"It's like a good murder mystery. Everyone thinks they know how to play the game, but they have no idea! There will be new twists and turns in the game. Everyone knows the core premise of The Traitors, but there's more we can do with it."
The Traitors series 1 and the US version are available to stream on BBC iPlayer now.
