The Traitors star Maddy Smedley has posted a clip of one of the show's funniest moments to mark its first anniversary.

The reality TV star took to her social media, including X (formerly Twitter) to share a video of her having a meal with other contestants, warning them against the effects of straining whilst on the toilet.

"People die the most on the toilet," Maddy says, adding that "straining" can lead to "pop" a blood vessel.

"You can probably pop your brain or whatever," she added.

Maddy, who has recently appeared in a short stint on soap Hollyoaks, captioned the video: "It's been a year since it aired. How time flies. Craziness!"

Meanwhile, The Traitors UK has been confirmed to return for a hotly-anticipated second season in early 2024, with Claudia Winkleman once again at the helm.

Producer Mike Cotton teased what's next for the show, likening the format to a "good murder mystery" with players now showing up thinking they know the rules.

"It's that [the cast of series 1] turned up to play a game and not become famous, but I think for series 2 it's going to be different," Cotton told Digital Spy earlier this year.

"It's like a good murder mystery. Everyone thinks they know how to play the game, but they have no idea!"

As the show has been ordered for a season three, the BBC's Head of Entertainment Kalpna Patel-Knight said viewers should expect more "psychological gameplay" and "exciting challenges".

"It will be a thrilling ride for both avid fans and newcomers to the series for sure. The BBC will always remain faithful to The Traitors," the BBC executive promised.

The Traitors will return to BBC One and iPlayer in early 2024.
