Travis Kelce Says He’s 'Looking' for Movie Roles After His Casting in “Grotesquerie”

Kelce, 34, said that he wants to be in 'Happy Gilmore 2': "I'll do anything in the movie"

Travis Kelce has been bitten by the acting bug!

Following his recent casting in the upcoming Ryan Murphy series Grotesquerie, the Chiefs star revealed on his podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce that he’s open to more acting opportunities.

During Wednesday's episode, Kelce, 34, confirmed he has his eyes on Hollywood and is actively “looking” for movie roles.

While discussing the recent announcement that the Adam Sandler sequel Happy Gilmore 2 is on the way, the brothers discussed what, if any, potential role Kelce could have. “I'm looking for movie deals,” he said. “I'll do anything in the movie. I'll be a part of it any way I possibly can.”

Earlier this month, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Kelce would join Niecy Nash-Betts in the upcoming FX horror drama series, Grotesquerie. On May 10, Kelce appeared in a clip with Nash-Betts while the pair filmed a restaurant scene.

"Okay, we are at a restaurant and we have been filming all day, a restaurant scene,” she explained in the clip.

“Travis Kelce, how many meatballs have you eaten today?" she then asked the football player, who replied, "Well, I'm eating them by the half, so probably 10. 10 meatballs? And we still got a ways to go!" Nash-Betts then added while giggling.

Kelce admitted during the May 14 episode of New Heights that he was “shocked” he got a call from Murphy to star in the series, but added that "It's been so much fun.”

"Ryan Murphy is [an] unbelievable writer, director, producer, all of the above, man. He's just — there's nothing he can't do and everybody's just been so helpful in making me feel comfortable."

The star tight end added, "Even on top of that, just giving me kinda the direction I need and the coaching I need to portray the part that I'm in." Currently, there is no official word on what kind of character Kelce plays in the series, which is set to premiere this fall.

Kelce also has a few other Hollywood projects in the works, including producing the film My Dead Friend Zoe and hosting the upcoming Prime game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?.
