Trending meme from ‘The Office’ helps TikTokers prepare for summer: ‘That time of the year again’

Even though the official start of summer is just months away, TikTokers are already preparing themselves for sunny days with a meme from The Office.

The scene comes from a season five episode where Michael Scott (Steve Carrell) puts his speaker up to the vent in order to kick off a dance party. In the show, the entire office begins to trickle down and enjoy the party. TikTokers are doing the same thing online, playing their favorite songs that remind them of summer.

Currently, the template has over 220,000 uses on CapCut and countless different songs attributed to it. TikTokers are showing off their music taste, getting ready for the upcoming weather and giving others a glimpse into their psyche with just one meme.

“Me the second it hits 70+ degrees, sunny, slight breeze, and able to drive with the windows down,” said @yayylorr in their post — which included “The Spins” by Mac Miller.

TikTokers know that once the weather starts to get better, the music will get louder.

“That time of the year again,” said @javistetic.

Depending on where people live, the conditions for summer to be around the corner differ.

“This song makes me wanna drive into the sun and never come back,” said @ana24ry.

The speaker meme also gives TikTokers the opportunity to show how the music sounds to them in their own head.

“Nobody: My last brain cell while I’m trying to sleep,” said @thecraftingcasita_ in their post.

“It’s just a song from a Disney film,” said @hollyscotson in her video. “Me every single time I’m in the car.”

In the show, all Michael Scott wanted to do was get the people dancing, and at least on TikTok, his methods have worked.
