Tributes paid to teenager who died at Dreamland

A teenager who died at the Dreamland amusement park in Kent has been named locally as Emily Stokes.

Police are investigating the death of the 17-year-old after being called to the scene just after 18:00 BST on Saturday.

A GoFundMe appeal has been started by Megan Stokes, who said she is Emily's older sister, also claiming that Emily's drink had been spiked, causing her to overdose.

She described her sister as "the kindest person you could ever meet".

On the appeal page she said: "She was so full of life and to have her taken away so suddenly at just 17 years old, it has completely broken me."

Dreamland has said it is working with the police investigation.

In a statement on Saturday the amusement park said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman’s family and friends and we will continue to work closely with Kent Police where relevant as they investigate this tragedy further."
